We Care About Your Mind.
Dear Thoughts is a Girl Scout Troop owned organization that provides information about coping skills and mental health. All of our proceeds are donated to [blah].
Our Story
The idea of a blog centered on mental health & coping strategies originated from the preparation of our Girl Scout Silver Award project. Throughout our meetings, we would have various speakers come and tell us about mental health. We realized that the information they gave us was extremely impactful, and it was a shame not many people were there to hear it. Our names are Rika and Ellie, and we plan to share what we know to as many people as we can, all across the Earth.

Our Mission
We didn't create Dear Thoughts just to tell others to "take a walk" when they are stressed, or "count to ten" when they can't control their emotions. Our number one goal is to tell others why they are feeling a certain way, and long-term ways to help with these states and emotions. The truth is, people cope in many different ways. We want you to find what is right for you. We hope that before turning to therapists or medications, you come across this website and find it as a powerful impact on your mind.

Bi-Weekly Blog
We’ll share recent stories we’ve found about positive mental health or just positive stories. Or, about topics we are interested in!

The Importance of Coping
Strategies
Coping Skills can help distract us from our struggles in our lives. They are meant to make you feel happy, and heal you. Coping methods are not a waste of time. They are a way to take care of ourselves, and elevate our mood, adding positivity.
“Coping involves adjusting to unusual demands, or stressors. This requires giving a greater effort and using greater energy than what's needed in the daily routines of life. Prolonged mobilization of effort can contribute to elevated levels of stress-related hormones and to eventual physical breakdown and illness.”

Garbhasana
Garbhasana relaxes the spine, neck and stretches the back muscles. In this position, the knees are supported and the forehead is placed lightly on the floor while the arms are relaxed at the sides.

Bhujangasana
The cobra is a well-known yoga exercise for the back muscles. You lie on your stomach, support your hands at chest height and slowly straighten your upper body, with your face pointing slightly upwards.

Majariasana
The cat exercise strengthens the muscle tone of the legs and arms and relieves the strain on the back and stomach. A "cat's hump" and a hollow back are formed on all fours, then arms and legs are raised diagonally.

Vrikshasana
The tree is a classic yoga balance exercise. One knee is bent, arms brought together in front of the chest. The hands are raised above the head when the stance is stable.
